For anyone who is interested, I have uploaded the new version of the SharePoint how-to guide to my SkyDrive for anyone who would like to help test and help to edit the guide.
The database move scripts assume that your server is named SERVER. If you server is named something different, you will need to edit sharepoint.sql, and replace all instances of SERVER with your server name.
Screenshots for installation will come later. I would like to have the actual content perfected first, and I’ll add the screenshots in for the final publish of the guide.
I recommend that only those that are interested in testing the guide download and use. I am not responsible for any data loss, or other issues arising from the download or use of this guide.

I got this all working on my MSS WHS, except for 1 thing.
Since I have to shut down Sharepoint on port 80 to allow the WHS web site to run, while my new Sharepoint site is on port 8085, when I click on the My SIte or My Links on the Sharepoint Web Page, I get an error. It looks like the URL it is trying to go to is the Sharepoint web page on port 80. Since Sharepoint on port 80 is disable to allow WHS web page to run using port 80, I get the error. How can I get this to work ?
1) You should probably add in the restarting of the default website to the procedure.
2) The move scripts are failing because it can’t find the referenced database in the script (copy seems to go okay). WSS 3.0 installed its own instance of SQL Embedded Edition but I can’t connect to it from either command line or using Management Suite (error -26) so I am unable to determine the database name. This may be a result of my already having SQL 2005 Express already installed. Any thoughts? Would like to get the move completed.

Following the steps to delete the website that was created during the install process, and after selecting yes to the to bubble options i hit delete, and nothing happens, it just sits there. Any ideas?
I tried this and am stuck. When the program creates a site on initial install, I get the pop up log in field. I also get the same pop up if I type the site into Explorer. I then use the name administrator, like you said along with the password for WHS and I can’t get in. This means I can’t go past this step. What am I missing?
For Ian: I also was unable to delete the website from the Remote Console. So I opened the Share Point Central Administration port in the firewall and accessed the Central Admin site from another PC. All went as documented. I have an HP-EX475. I think the issue is that javascript is not enabled in the server browser. This is not confirmed.
Has anyone yet tried the WSS 3.0 installation with additional SP1 and the new Sharepoint Infrastructure Update (kb951695) ?
